Street Performers

I love street performers.
Especially these painted ones,
they must spend hours getting ready each morning!
All just for our enjoyment.

Which we have the choice to pay for or not.

Pretty cool people.....(or whatever they're trying to be)

These ones are my favourite.

Fete De La Musique

"Make Music Everywhere"

Today was Fete De La Musique, held all over Brisbane and in 350 cities around the world!
Seriously, what a cool idea :) the same day every year. Although this does incur some problems, such as falling on a Monday this year. I'm sure the performers would have much preferred it to be held on the weekend, but oh well.

Just strolling up Queen Street I got to listen to the sounds of three different bands.
And very different they were.
The second band we (Elena and I) came across were quite interesting... I swear it was a Moo Moo that the bongo player was wearing. He wasn't islander or anything of that note, so he really didn't have much hope of pulling it off! But ofcourse you can make that judgement for yourself if you ever happen to catch 'Scenic Tour' playing somewhere.
Up at the Southbank end of Queen Street there was a splendid 3-piece band performing.
I thoroughly enjoyed the electric violin!
I wish I had heard them mention the name of their band.
As the day turned into afternoon we came across 'Tim Nelson and The Cub Scouts' playing at Ric's Bar. A band I have heard of but was yet to see them perform. They are unique and very enjoyable.
Snack time!
Playing with the Shrek toy received in a Happy Meal was a great time waster until the next band set up at Ric's Bar.
Bixby Canyon.
They were great from start to finish.
Jake Wood, the lead singer and guitarist was the most entertaining with his stage antics, and even off-stage. At one point he actually barged out of the doors and into Brunswick Mall still slamming away on his guitar. By the end of their set, his guitar appeared stained from blood. Perhaps playing so enthusiasticly cut his finger, who knows. But Jake continued to go as hard as before even though his strumming hand had a sliced finger.
I look forward to catching Bixby Canyon around Brisbane again.

Olaf Breuning

I love discovering.

I wish I was Comic Sans.

My first blog entry, ever.
I am quite disappointed that it can not be in Comic Sans.

I just came across this wonderous imagined monologue....
Now I want everything I type to be like daffodils in a motherfucking spring.

You will not regret letting your eyes take in the marvellous thoughts of Comic Sans.
